36 Arrested, 16 Hurt In Euro 2016 Violence

Euro 2016 ViolenceMEP: At least 36 people have been arrested and 16 taken to hospital as violence erupted between football supporters and French Police in the streets of Lille at the Euro 2016 tournament.

On Wednesday night, riot police charged at hundreds of England football fans as flares and bangers were set off.

The violence comes as England prepares to take on Wales on Thursday afternoon in Euro 16.

BBC reported that tear gas had been used by riot police and it was mostly England fans involved.

Some were seen climbing road signs and while English police – sent out to help with the security operation – urged fans to behave, French police charged at them repeatedly.

Earlier, some English and Russian supporters had been detained after scuffles.
