3 killed in Kandahar suicide attack

KABUL: (MEP) – At least three civilians were killed and several wounded when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives in Kandahar provincial capital, an official said Saturday, Wakht reported.

According to the provincial governor spokesman, Jawid Faisal, the incident took place close to a healthcare center near the Kandahar airport, where a motorcycle bomber blew his explosive up, after being identified by the police, leaving three civilian killed and several others wounded.

The main target was the international security forces convoy crossing the area, said the spokesman.

No one or armed group had immediately claimed responsibility for the incident.
