KABUL: (MEP) – Three Chinese citizens- two women and one man and one afghan man – have been killed and another two remained missing in the Afghan capital, according to the Chinese Embassy in Kabul.
The embassy said in a statement that the three Chinese workers were found dead in an apartment building in central Kabul on Friday. Two men living in the same apartment were missing. It remains to be determined when the suspected murder took place.
While authorities say it’s not clear if the unidentified Chinese citizens were deliberately targeted, the Chinese embassy has urged the Afghan government to investigate the crime.
Afghan police said a verbal fight between the Chinese workers and Afghans had led to the killings. A person in charge of the investigation said he believed the women were prostitutes and that the deaths did not appear to be politically motivated, according to a New York Times report.
