28 Taliban Insurgents Killed In Past 24 Hrs

Afghan National ArmyKABUL: (MEP) Afghan National Army and Afghan security forces have launched military operations in different provinces of the country in which at least 28 Taliban insurgents were killed, 25 wounded and 12 others arrested.

A statement was issued by the Ministry of Defense (MoD) states the operations were conducted in Nangarhar, Ghazni, Logar, Maidan/Wardak, Kandahar, Zabul, Uruzgan, Faryab, Jowzjan, Badakhshan, Baghlan and Kunduz provinces within past 24 hours.

The security officials also managed to seize some heavy and light weapons, ammunition and military equipment during the operations, the statement noted.

According to the statement, at least five Afghan National Army soldiers were martyred in clashes with the anti-government insurgents, the source further added.

This comes as Taliban insurgents are actively operating in many provinces and often carry out insurgency activities.

In response, the Afghan security forces launch military operations daily to eliminate the terror groups in order to bring security and peace for the people of Afghanistan.
