26 Insurgents Killed in the Past 24 hours

KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least 23 insurgents have been killed following Afghan military operation and three other were killed in their own IED explosion within past 24 hours.

Interior Ministry in a statement issued Tuesday morning states that three insurgents were killed in their own IED explosion in Qala-e-Lalak area of Baraki Barak District, Logar Province yesterday.

Insurgents were planting the landmine on a roadside that exploded on them, killing all three on the spot.

Another statement also issued Tuesday morning states that 23 insurgents were killed during military Afghan operations across the country in past 24 hours.

According to the statement the operations were jointly conducted by Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army and personnel from the National Directorate of Security (NDS) in Logar, Ghazni, Khost, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Uruzgan, Paktiya, Paktika, Helmand, Kapisa and Maidan Wardak provinces.

According to statement eight different types of Improvised Explosive Devices were discovered during the operations.
