25 Local Army Soldiers Shot Dead in Ghazni
KABUL (MEP) – 25 local army soldiers were killed and one was wounded as a result of an inside shooting in Qarabagh district in Ghazni province.
Ghazni Provincial Council Chairman Nasir Ahmad Faqiri told MEP that the incident happened at Friday night in the Noda village of Qarabagh district.
Seven intruders open fired on soldiers when they were resting during a pre-planned night guard, he said.
The inside attack killed 25 local army soldiers and wounded one, Mr. Faqiri said.
Ghazni Provincial Council Chairman said the attackers were from Ab-Band district in Ghazni province who took military equipment after the attack.
Some news sources also say that the attackers seized two vehicles, including a “Humvee”, along with other military equipment.
The MoD confirming the event, stated that nine Taliban fighters were killed in the attack.
The armed Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack saying, 32 local soldiers had been killed and their equipment seized.
