KABUL: (Middle East Press) Afghan forces have killed at least 23 Taliban militants and injured dozen others during clearance operations across the country over the past 24 hours.
A statement issued by the Afghan Defense Ministry on Wednesday that the militants were killed and wounded during a series of operations carried out in Kandahar, Kapisa and Kunduz provinces.
The statement further added that there were two casualties on the side of the Afghan army.
The Taliban militants have not commented on the report so far.
Afghan forces also confiscated light and heavy weaponry during the operations and defused several rounds of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) as well as landmines.
