2 policemen killed, 8 wounds by Suicide attack in Nangarhar Provence

KABUL: (MEP) – At least in the last suicide attack two police officers killed and eight civilian have been injured when a suicide car bomber detonated his vehicle at a police station in the Afghan eastern province of Nangarhar.

The incident took place in front of Nangarhar Police Headquarters.

Officials said several other officers and civilians were reported injured in the blast on the morning of October 12 in the provincial capital, Jalalabad.

The city is situated on a key route between the Pakistani border region and Afghan capital, Kabul.

It was not immediately clear who was responsible for the bombing, but Taliban and allied Islamist extremists have carried out similar attacks previously, Based on reporting by AFP and DPA.

The attack came as U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry visited Kabul for talks with President Hamid Karzai on a new U.S.-Afghan security pact.
