2 Officials in Kunduz Die from Coronavirus

KABUL (MEP) – Kunduz police chief and Qala-e-Zal district governor have died after contracting coronavirus.

Kunduz governor’s spokesman Esmatullah Moradi told MEP that province’s police chief Gen. Abdul Rashid Bashir, and Ahmad Fahim Qarluq, Qala-e-Zal district governor, had recently contracted coronavirus.

He said Kunduz police chief Gen. Bashir had been transferred to Kabul after his condition worsened, but died in the capital.

The governor of Qala-e-Zal also died from coronavirus at Kunduz hospital last night, according to Kunduz governor’s spokesman.

Moradi further added that measures had been taken for coronavirus patients in the province.

But Kunduz residents say there is not enough facilities for fighting virus in the province and the situation in the province is dangerous and worrying.
