19 Armed Taliban Killed, Wounded In Faryab Operation

Taliban pushed back in Faryab provinceMEP: 209th Shaheen Corps stationed in Balkh province says as a result of a joint operation under the name of “Zafar 11” in Faryab province, 19 armed Taliban were killed and wounded.

Lt. Col. Abdul Qahar Araam, 209th Shaheen Corps spokesman said the operation was launched in the past 24 hours in Qaisar and Pashtonkot districts of Faryab province.

According to him, four armed Taliban were killed and two others were injured in the village of Taylan, and a mine was discovered and defused.

Araam added, during a similar operation in the areas of Chaharshanbe of Qaisar district, one Taliban were killed and 12 others were wounded.

Meanwhile, Faryab police spokesman Abdul Karim Youresh said in the counterattack of security forces against Taliban offensive attacks on security posts in the area of Chaharshanbe, a Taliban tank has been destroyed and their attacks were pushed back.

Taliban have not yet commented in this regard.
