18 Dead, over 550 Injured after Earthquake Hits Turkey

Turkish officials say 18 people have been killed and 550 injured in earthquakes in the eastern city of Alazig.

A 6.5 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey’s eastern province of Elazig on Friday.

Initial casualties were four dead and more than 300 wounded, but today morning it is reported that the dead toll has risen to 18 and wounded moved up to 550.

The Turkish Earthquake Research Center has declared its depth 10 kilometers below ground level.

The Turkish Interior Ministry said several buildings had collapsed following the earthquake and the aftershocks.
