17 Rescued from Taliban Prison in Kunduz

KABUL (MEP) – A total of 17 prisoners were released from a Taliban jail in Khan Abad district of Kunduz province, says NDS.

The Intelligence Forces operation was carried out Sunday night in the Nawabad area of ​​Khan Abad district, said National Directorate of Security (NDS) in a statement.

NDS statement further said that all of prisoners were civilians but two of them are Afghan soldiers.

The prison belonged to an armed Taliban commander Qari Wali, in which the prisoners had been kept for several months.

Reportedly, three Taliban hideouts and the prison were destroyed in the operation.

The operation comes as two weeks ago, Afghan Commandos freed 62 security forces from a Taliban prison in Badghis province.
