15 People Freed from Taliban Prison in Kunduz

KABUL (MEP) — Special Forces freed 15 people from a Taliban prison in Imam Saheb district of Kunduz Province.

The operation was carried out last night in Imam Saheb district of Kunduz province with participation of National Army Special Forces and 09 NDS Corps.

Defense Ministry released a newsletter saying, during the operation a Taliban prison was destroyed and 15 people including civilians and security forces were freed.

An armed Taliban depot was also discovered and set on fire in the operation, newsletter said.

Meanwhile, Kunduz local officials say at least six armed Taliban militants were killed during the operation.

The armed Taliban have not commented so far.
