12 Killed, Many Injured in Bangladesh House Collapse

KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least 12 people have been killed and several others injured, after two-storey makeshift house has collapsed into a body of water in Bangladesh.

The deadly incident took place Dhaka capital of Bangladesh district of Rampura, Wednesday afternoon, around 2:45 p.m.

According to reports the residents were having lunch when the tragic incident occurred.

Locals said, some people might still be trapped underwater inside the collapsed house and therefore the number of victims might increase.

The acting director general of Fire Service and Civil Defense, Maj AKM Shakil Newaz said that they couldn’t be able to move the building as it was made by steel and tin and they are trying to cut down slowly and save the trapped ones.

Abdul Malek, a survivor, said he managed to escape death by breaking the tin roof and climbing out of the shattered building.
