KABUL: (Middle East Press) At least ten people have lost their lives and more than 25 others have been wounded after a mortar attack had been carried out by the foreign-backed militants in Syria’s northwestern city of Aleppo.

The attack took place when terrorists threw a number of mortar shells at al-Khaldiyeh neighborhood of the violence-plagued city, on Saturday, Syria’s official reported.

Those injured in the attack were transferred to nearby hospitals to receive medical treatment.

A number of houses have also been damaged as well as few cars near the residential area, the officials added.

Cities and towns across Syria have frequently come under bomb attacks as well as mortar and rocket fire by militants since crisis erupted in the country more than four years ago.

The bombing came as Syrian forces and a number of different militant groups have been fighting for control over Aleppo, Syria’s major business town and the country’s second largest city.
