Jawzjan’s ‘Darzaab’ district under Daesh siege

The district of Darzaab of Jawzjan province, which had been in danger of collapse to the hands of Daesh (ISIS/ISIL) terrorist group for some time, has been surrounded by the group from 2 days and war has reached 100 meters to the district center.

However, the chairman of the Jawzjan Provincial Council claims that some of the popular uprising forces affiliated to commander Daadi in the district of Balcharagh help the terrorist group to attack the district of Darzaab.

Maulawi Abdul Haye Hayaat in an interview with the Middle East Press said the central of Darzaab district was surrounded by 600 ISIL militants and a sharp conflict between security forces and members of the group continues.

According to him, the situation in the district is extremely disturbing and will collapse soon if new forces are not deployed to this district.

Roads in the district have been blocked for a long time on military vehicles, and the presence of armed opposition on this route has caused the security forces to be supplied through air.

Meanwhile, the chairman of Jawzjan Provincial Council, who heads the Provincial Council of the National Movement Party, claims that the ISIL group heading by Qari Hekmat and Dadullah commander has ties together and if needed, will assist each other.

“In the last night raid of the ISIL group, 10 government forces have died and six security shells have fallen into the group, and that the conflict is still ongoing, but so far no aid troops have been deployed to the district,” Mr Hayaat added.

Meanwhile, commander Dadullah also known as [Daday] commander of the popular uprising in the district of Balcharagh of Faryab Province, in a call to the Middle East Press strongly denied claims by the chairman of the provincial council of Jawzjan and rejected the presence of his people in the ISIL ranks.

He says the ISIL group and the armed Taliban are their common enemies, and he is now in the middle of fighting against these groups.

The district of Darzaab comes under Daesh siege in the time as Police Chief of Jawzjan Province, Police Chief and District Governor of Darzaab District, are not in charge of their duties.
