Fear of Afghan asylum seekers in Turkey!

After the tensions and voidance have been increased by Turkish and Kurdish youths toward Afghan asylum seekers in Turkey, fear has surrounded Afghan asylum seekers.

Two days ago and when a Turkish citizen youth, originally Kurdish, was killed, the tension and physical contact between the Turkish youths and the Afghan asylum seekers began.

The physical fighting taking place at Soltan Ghazi area in Istanbul and leaving the Kurdish youth wounded and later dead did not seem that harsh to bring a killing fear for Afghan asylum seeker, such a frightening atmosphere that keeps Afghan asylum seekers to stay inside their rooms and shelters in fear of their lives.

The fighting is said to be begun when a Kurdish youth tried to stop an asylum seeker, had been told to be Afghan, from having a conversation with a Turkish girl.

Following the incident, on way to hospital the injured Kurdish youth died but the other Kurdish young fellows in revenge for their friend’s death severely harmed each Afghan asylum seekers they could see.

“As a result of these two-day tension and fight, lasting to today, Wednesday, 27 Sawr, 7 Afghan asylum seekers have been killed and some wounded” the Afghan asylum seekers in Turkey told the Middle East Press

According to these Afghans the circumstance is so hard that they cannot leave their rooms and shelters, the Kurdish youths fall on Afghan lives with knives and sticks.

Turkey as an Islamic country and a member of NATO has army forces in Afghanistan but currently Afghans are not feeling safe there in Turkey.

Afghan asylum seeker are asked to avoid unnecessary surf in Turkey cities particularly Istanbul.

Based on videos uploaded to social pages show the Kurdish attack to Afghan asylum seekers are very severe, wild and killing.

Turkey is the home of those wanting to reach to Europe. Due to the sudden change in the asylum policy, a great number of asylum seekers including Afghans have got stuck in this destination and faced with many challenges.
