6th Palestinian Intifada Conference Opens In Tehran
MEP: Tehran, the Iranian capital on Tuesday hosted representatives from more than 50 countries attending the 6th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada (Uprising).
Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, who is the chairman of the conference, gave a brief opening address before Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei officially started the conference with a speech.
More than 700 foreign officials and academics, including 18 parliament speakers, have taken part in the two-day Conference which opened at the Iran International Conference Center.
Palestine has been the site of increased tensions since last August, when Israel imposed restrictions on the entry of Palestinians into the al-Aqsa Mosque’s compound in East Jerusalem al-Quds
The number of civilians killed during Israel’s offensive has raised international concern and condemnation. more than 2,100 Palestinians were killed in the Gaza Strip and thousands others wounded.
